Macleans College students raise over $16,000 for Shave for a Cure

Wednesday 26 July marked the New Zealand 10-year anniversary for Shave for a Cure – a fundraiser for kiwis living with blood cancer.
Sixteen students at Macleans College took part in this charity event on the day. They had all been fundraising for over a month to support leukaemia and blood cancer research and managed to raise over $16,000.
Macleans College has a strong tradition of working with charities. It was heartwarming to see the support from the crowd who cheered the students on with much excitement and enthusiasm. Although some of the students were nervous, they were inspired to shave their heads. It was an emotional hour, but it was all worth it to support those suffering with blood cancer.
Those who took part in Shave for a Cure are grateful for the opportunity organised by student leaders Damien Hollins and Hana Rose (both of Hillary House). Thank you to all those who showed their support, the money raised will help fund the search for a cure and provide invaluable support for patients and their families.
