Macleans College students attend the Halberg Awards

On Wednesday 15 February, six Macleans College students attended the 60th Halberg Awards held at Spark Arena.
Head Prefects Bianca Lim (Snell House), Josh Radford (Hillary), Hana Rose (Hillary), and Vian Shah (Snell) alongside Year 13 students Finn Sanileva (Rutherford) and Lucy Barrow-Burns (Mansfield) had the opportunity to attend the prestigious event.
The Halberg Awards honour and celebrate New Zealand's sporting excellence over the past decade and raise funds for the Halberg Foundation, which aims to enhance the lives of physically disabled young Kiwis through sport and recreation.
The day began with a leadership course that included presentations from the likes of Olympic bronze medallist, Marcus Daniell. The students then had the chance to meet many familiar faces within the New Zealand sporting community, and helped sell raffle tickets to support the efforts of the Halberg Foundation. Finally, they had the privilege of watching the awards night from their own table while soaking in the amazing atmosphere.
Many thanks to the Halberg Foundation for making the night possible, and allowing this group of Macleans College students to experience the occasion.
