Macleans College student wins Eastern Zone Speech Competition

The Eastern Zone Speech Competition pits the best Year 9 and 10 Macleans College public speakers against students from neighbouring East Auckland schools.
This year students from Botany Downs Secondary College, Pakuranga College, Sancta Maria College, Mission Heights Junior College and Howick College took part.
Year 9 student Stephanie Lin and Year 10 student Haran Thirumeni (both Rutherford House) were the Macleans College representatives last Tuesday evening at Botany Downs Secondary College.
Stephanie spoke wonderfully well on ‘The Power of the Lie’ while Haran’s speech about ‘Intelligence is born not made’ won the admiration of the judges and first place in the Year 10 group.
