Macleans College student gains selection for New Zealand U17 Football squad

The 18-player squad is currently working on their build-up to the FIFA U17 World Cup to be held in Indonesia, starting on 10 November.

Next month Nathan will travel with the team to Japan to take part in a warmup tournament from 14 – 18 September. Games will be held against Niigata regional team, Japan U17 and Venezuela U17.

Nathan is a key member of the Macleans College 1st XI Boys Football team.

In other Football related news, two former Macleans College students have been named in the New Zealand Football U23 squad. William (Liam) Gillion (Snell House 2016) and Aaryan Raj (Batten House 2017 - 2021) are currently competing in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Men’s Olympic Qualifier competition – a tournament to decide which team from the OFC region qualifies for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
