Macleans College student excels in tap dance

Year 11 student Jessica Wang (Mansfield House) has achieved a high level of success recently in the discipline of tap dance.
In Wellington last weekend, Jessica won the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance (NZAMD) National Scholarship Award 2022, with a first placing in tap dance.
The week before at the 2022 National Young Performer Awards, held in Palmerston North, Jessica made it through to the semi-finals and achieved a final placing of seventh in the tap dance division. Jessica was the youngest performer among the participants, and the only one who progressed into the semi-finals at the age of 15 years old.
Jessica’s national-level achievements are impressive considering the high standard of competition, with competitors aged up to 23 years old taking part.
