Macleans College Student Awarded an Apple Scholarship

Kerman Kohli (13MNM) has won a prestigious scholarship with Apple and will be jetting off to attend the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco next week.

Kerman was awarded the scholarship after a rigorous selection process and is one of only 350 recipients worldwide.

The scholarship was given to the Macleans College student after he developed The Homework App on the Apple platform.

“I developed The Homework App to make school life easier for everyone,” said Kerman. “Students often have to juggle lots of homework and assignments at the same time. This app helps students of all ages to keep track of their tasks.

The app allows students to plan their homework, sort tasks by due date or subject, and add instructions from their teacher for each assignment.

Having begun developing apps at just 12 years of age, Kerman is now taking his passion to the world stage.

Kerman said, “It’s exciting to meet and mingle with other developers and influential Apple experts. The conference will give me a great opportunity to showcase The Homework App and learn from the best in the industry.”

The Homework App has been downloaded over 1 million times across 124 countries and featured on Forbes and Yahoo. The app is available to download in the App Store.
