Macleans College Squash Club continues to build success

The 2022 Macleans College squash prizegiving took place last week to recognise the achievements of a busy but rewarding season.
This year, Macleans College entered four teams into the College Sport Auckland competition. The Girls A team finished first in the Open A Girls division, the Girls B team finished first in the Open B Girls division, the Boys A team finished fifth in the Open A Boys division, and the Boys B team finished second in the Open B Boys division. Both the Boys and Girls A teams also participated in the squash nationals where they gained valuable learning experiences.
The Macleans College Squash Club were very privileged to have their squash coach Glen Wilson attend the prizegiving as he recently returned from the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England. Glen is the head coach of the New Zealand squash team who came home with three gold medals from Paul Coll, Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy. Glen spoke to the Macleans College squash team about his experience in Birmingham. He also spoke about building mental toughness in the game.

The Macleans College Squash Club has grown significantly this year, and they look forward to further progressing their squash skills and grades.
