Macleans College Scores Silver at Inter-School Chess National Championships

Macleans College took second place in the closely contested Inter-School Chess National Championships that took place in Palmerston North from 24 – 25 September.
Fourteen top teams from regions around the country were competing in a seven round Swiss style tournament with rapid chess timing (each player had 25 minutes plus an increment of 5 seconds per move in which to play a match).
The Macleans College Premier team members are Captain Karl Zhu (Snell House), Richard Jiang (Upham), Jasmine Zhang (Hillary) and Terry Shen (Te Kanawa).
