Macleans College runners take part in Rotorua Half Marathon

On Saturday 29 February the Macleans College Adventure Racing Team consisting of Jessica Hong (Rutherford House), Picus Lam (Kupe), Isaac Liu (Upham), Nico Muller (Kupe) and Amelia Winstone (Kupe), competed in the Rotorua off-road half marathon held in Whakarewarewa Forest.
Over 500 participants raced over the gruelling 21 km course.
All of the team members ran strongly with Isaac Liu and Picus Lam finishing equal 15th in a time of 1 hour 38 minutes 48 seconds. The rest of the team completed the course in under 2 hours 10 minutes.
The team would like to acknowledge the organisers, Event Promotions, the sponsors, the Copthorne Hotel Rotorua and the work done by members of the Lake City Athletic Club who recorded the times and provided local support.
Special thanks also to Mrs Durham and Mr Rodriguez who accompanied the team on the trip.
