Macleans College raise funds for UNICEF
Posted on August 01, 2023
Over 100 Macleans College students joined together on Tuesday 18 July to hold a homemade bake sale to raise money for UNICEF.
Members of the UNICEF club baked a range of delicious foods, including brownies, cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. The support of students and staff on the day ensured the success of this charity event. Nearly $1,000 was raised, all of which will be donated to UNICEF.
Earlier this year at the annual athletics day, the UNICEF club organised a drink sale which made over $800. The students are also currently selling chocolate boxes and will be holding bucket collections in the future.
The UNICEF club at Macleans College continues to grow, with a network of over 400 students. UNICEF Executives Eric Deng (Mansfield House), Olivia Lin (Batten), William Huang (Mansfield), Cecilia Ma (Mansfield), Nishtha Prasad (Mansfield), Behrad Etemadipour (Batten), Leo Mamedov (Kupe), and Wesley Lau (Kupe) managed, coordinated, and oversaw all aspects of the charity fundraiser initiative.
Thank you to Mrs Heeney for her continued support, and all the students who were involved in the organisation of this fantastic fundraising event.
UNICEF is the United Nations Children’s Fund. They work to protect the rights of children in over 190 countries and territories around the world. Funds raised contribute to UNICEF’s worldwide emergency and development work.
