Macleans College participate in Taking a Knee
Posted on June 30, 2020
Last week on Thursday 25 June, students and teachers at Macleans College participated in Taking a Knee, a gesture led by the Amnesty International group.
Everyone was invited to join the gesture to show solidarity and express sympathy to those that have been victims of racism globally. More than 400 students and teachers turned up and took a knee for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in silence.
Simultaneously, the school intercultural mufti occurred on the same day, which meant the event was also a great way to celebrate the different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds at the school.
This was an unforgettable experience for everyone who participated in the event.
