Macleans College fundraise for Kiwis with cystic fibrosis
Posted on July 10, 2024
To support Kiwis living with cystic fibrosis, a serious genetic condition, the Macleans College Interact Club recently organised their annual bake sale and bucket collection.
With the help of over 120 dedicated students including bakers, sellers and poster designers, the bake sale raised an impressive $843. Generous students and staff enjoyed delicious home-baked treats such as cookies, brownies and cakes while supporting a great cause.
In addition, over 40 student volunteers participated in a bucket collection at Howick village. Amid the vibrant Saturday market atmosphere, the students braved the cold to engage with locals and promote the cause. Their efforts raised over $1,000 - a fantastic achievement.
All proceeds from the Interact Club’s events are donated to Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand, aiding individuals and their families affected by the condition, advocating for better healthcare access and advancing research for treatments.
Thank you to Ms Matthews-Ward for her ongoing support with the organisation and logistics of the Interact Club’s activities and to everyone who donated or participated.
