Macleans College finish sixth at national golf tournament

Macleans College competed in the New Zealand Secondary Schools National Golf Tournament held at Pleasant Point Golf Club in Timaru from 27 - 28 August.
The tournament was contested by the top 19 secondary schools golf teams in New Zealand. Teams had to qualify in their district tournaments to participate in this pinnacle secondary schools golf tournament.
Being the 2022 national champions, Macleans College gained automatic entry to this tournament. The Macleans College team consisted of Sally Lee (captain) (Upham House), Lucia Lee (Hillary) and Cherry Lee (Batten). The sixth-place finish at this tournament is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of the Macleans College team. They gained valuable experience competing against some of the nation's best golfers. This result should serve as motivation for the team to continue honing their skills and striving for even better results in future tournaments.
The best player of the team was Lucia Lee, who returned the best card for Macleans College over the two days.
Upon completion of the golf nationals, Ivan Yun (Te Kanawa), Sally Lee, Cherry Lee and Lucia Lee competed in the New Zealand age group competition. This was held at Timaru Golf Club. On the last day of the competition, the Macleans College golfers gave it their all, delivering an exceptional performance under pressure. Lucia and Cherry produced remarkable rounds, demonstrating their ability to compete at the national level.
