Macleans College celebrate Chinese New Year

On Friday 12 February Rutherford House welcomed in Chinese New Year with red lanterns, red packets and streamers.

Some of the new Year 9 students also had fun trying their hand at traditional paper craft - cutting out ‘double happiness’ characters and making paper lanterns to add to the decorations colouring the house Rutherford red. 

Students had the opportunity in Social Studies to learn about the Chinese New Year celebration, with many sharing their own knowledge and experiences of this special occasion and its traditions with the rest of the class.
