Two Macleans College Year 13 students from 2022, Hannah Dunk (Hillary House 2021 – 2022) and Ayaan Lakhani (Kupe 2018 – 2022), were both recipients of Bright Awards winning respectively the Photography and Graphic Design categories of the awards.
The Bright Awards, announced over summer, are presented by Media Design School and are open to Year 11–13 students to showcase and celebrate their creativity in digital design and technology.
Hannah Dunk was commended by the judges for having “a clear and straightforward concept” and “producing well-composed images with great attention to detail and light." Judges commented that Ayaan Lakhani’s graphic design work employed an "interesting use of the collage technique with a strong feeling of nostalgia, good use of grid and layout techniques for the composition."
Macleans College was also awarded the title of “Bright School of the Year” after students won two of the five categories available.
