Year 11 Physical Education students tackle the MacFit Challenge

Posted on December 05, 2024

As part of the MCert Physical Education Advanced (11PEA) course, students' fitness levels were recently tested in the MacFit Challenge.

The students have been working on this fitness component as they navigate through the theoretical understandings of how the human body functions and operates at its optimum. Baseline testing on all the components involved in the MacFit Challenge were assessed. The students were continually assessed during Term 3 and prepared, physically and mentally for the iconic Macleans College challenge.

On the day, nerves were evident but all Year 11PEA students were ready and successfully navigated through the 3.5km course around Macleans Park, which included an agility course - carrying kettlebells up a hill and rowing 500m on an erg machine. Before the event, they threw a medicine ball which counted towards their final placing.

The students were commended for their effort and determination. It was inspiring to see and hear fellow Macleans College students offering support and cheering them on throughout the school and along the route.
