Macappella Barbershop Chorus place fourth at National Finals

On Wednesday 21 September the 55 member strong Barbershop Chorus, Macappella, made the arduous journey south to Palmerston North, to compete at the Young Singers in Harmony Barbershop National Finals.
Competing in the Upper Voices Quartet section, four newly formed Macleans quartets stepped up:
Voix Celeste
Abbie Yeung (Rutherford House), Sue Jynn Leong (Rutherford), Tiffany Yin (Mansfield), Catherine Luo (Rutherford)
Vermillion
Nora He (Batten), Hope Zhang (Rutherford), Jolie Chang (Snell), Cecilia Ma (Mansfield)
Crimson
Chien-Ling Liu (Kupe), Hannah Liu (Rutherford), Athena Grant (Hillary), Amy Shen (Te Kanawa)
Morning Glory
Rachel Chang (Hillary), Lilian Zhang (Mansfield), Victoria Hsu (Batten), Haylie Liang (Kupe)
The following day, the girls took to the stage in full force, led by Melody Lowe, in the Chorus section of the contest and came away with a fourth placing for their programme of A Million Dreams and Jeepers Creepers.
The girls also enjoyed the opportunity to showcase their talents at the recent annual Gala Concert.
