Posted on October 18, 2022
The Macademy Awards is a new event in the school calendar to showcase filmmaking at Macleans College.
Sixteen short films made for media studies assessments, film festivals and the filmmaking club will be shown, and Macademy Awards for best Film, Director, Script, Performance, Cinematography, Editing and Sound will be presented.
These awards will be judged by artists from the New Zealand film industry: Nahyeon Lee (writer/director: Kainga), Keagan Carr Fransch (actor: Pete’s Dragon) and Tom Clarke (actor: Punch). Additionally, there will also be an Audience Choice Award voted for and awarded on the night.
The Macademy Awards will take place at the Colin Prentice Auditorium on Tuesday 1 November at 7 pm. Tickets are available now for just $5. The red carpet will be rolled out so dress up for the paparazzi.
