Korean Night 2017
Posted on August 11, 2017
On Friday 4th August, Macleans College hosted the annual intercultural event, Korean Night, at the Colin Prentice Auditorium.
The aim of Korean Night was to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of South Korean culture whilst improving inter-school relations. The event was a collaboration with Botany Downs Secondary College. All profits raised went to the Intercultural Club’s main charity, Starship Hospital.
Planning was extensive for the event. It took impressive organisational skills to be able to assemble the over 100 students for the event. They included the performers, technical crew, back stage and front of house. The night was a rousing success and garnered an overwhelming response from the audience.
Many thanks to Mirae Lee (Batten House), Tae Kim (Upham), Hannah Alatan (Batten) and Maryam Madawi (Mansfield) for being the organisers of the event. Special thanks must go to Mrs Fukuko Hoshino, Miss Jenny Jung and Mrs Christine Cottell-Mayhew for guiding and helping to oversee the entire event. Crystal Chow of Botany Downs Secondary College helped with liaising with the organisers of the event.
