Junior students of Spanish enjoy afternoon of culture and dance

Last week junior students of Spanish at Macleans College had an afternoon of fun and culture to round out a very successful semester.
Students gathered in the auditorium and participated in a range of activities including Spanish ‘aerobics’, games, quizzes and dance. The highlight of the session was the salsa lesson in which students were taught some basic steps and spent time mastering these.
Salsa is a popular Latin dance, combining aspects of various dance styles such as mambo, rumba, swing and tap. It is a social activity worldwide, allowing participants to dance with a partner and occasionally to break out into solo moves.
The students had a lot of fun mixing with the other Spanish students and putting their coordination and rhythm skills to the test! Many thanks to Ms Vogels and her dance partner for their demonstration and assistance.
