Junior Solo Showcase

On Tuesday 22 October, the annual Junior Solo Showcase was held in the Colin Prentice Auditorium.
The event is the final stage of the junior solo competition where student finalists present a formal recital to a live audience. Finalists were selected from a video entry round that is open to performers of all instrument and vocal types.
The 2019 finalists were: Lorna Zhang of Mansfield House (Violin), Bob Xiang of Batten (Clarinet), Ritchie Luo of Te Kanawa (Piano), Malinda Guan of Upham (Flute), Will Crozier of Upham (Voice), Wei Tian Teo of Rutherford (Piano) and Bruce Zhang of Kupe (Cello).
Two prizes were awarded, the Junior Piano trophy was awarded to Wei Tian Teo and the Junior Solo trophy and cash prize gifted by Rosa Shin, was awarded for the second year running to Lorna Zhang.
