A group of Italian international students from Scuole Malpighi school were thrilled to recently visit the Hobbiton movie set.

The students and their teacher are currently spending three weeks at Macleans College, as part of the short-term international students programme.

Stepping into the lush pastures of the Shire, the students visited the iconic Bag End; home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. They were then guided down Bagshot Row to glimpse inside other hobbit holes which scatter the hillsides.

Continuing past the Millhouse and across the double-arched stone bridge, the students entered into the Green Dragon Inn where they tasted delicious ginger beer from the Hobbit Southfarthing range.

To conclude their Middle-earth adventure, the students were treated to a scrumptious buffet bursting with hobbit fare in the party marquee, while admiring the exquisite views across the water.

The entire experience was enchanting and provided a real-life opportunity for the students to be immersed in their favourite movies.
