New international students for 2024 attend Macleans College induction event
Posted on March 25, 2024
Seventy-four new international students at Macleans College braved the wet and windy weather on Monday 4 March to make their way to the Bentley Pavilion for the International Department induction event.
These students started in term one and have travelled to Macleans College from their home countries of Korea, Japan, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Brazil, Thailand, Spain, India, Germany, Indonesia and Luxembourg.
The objective of the event was to enrich the student's knowledge of the way of life in New Zealand, the health and safety aspects at Macleans College, the possible emotional cycle experienced by students embarking on a new journey in a new country, and also how to better manage the cultural and gender diversity in the school community.
The international student prefects joined the new students, introducing themselves and sharing information about their time and experiences at Macleans College.
Staff, students and prefects then enjoyed a morning tea of hot cross buns, chocolate biscuits and fruit.
