International Student Graduation Luncheon 2024

Posted on September 18, 2024

The annual Macleans College International Student Graduation Luncheon was held on Wednesday 11 September at the Howick Club.

Thirty-two Year 13 students came together to celebrate their final journey at Macleans College. Students were acknowledged for their resilience, dedication and commitment to a new learning and living environment particularly during challenging times. Time at Macleans College varied from short term study programmes of a few months, with other students staying for one year or more, and twelve students completing five years of study.

This was a special and momentous occasion for graduates and staff, who were treated to a delicious lunch and an afternoon of entertainment organised by talented students.

The leaver speeches were delivered by Dora Li (Mansfield House) and Brad Lee (Upham). Both students reflected on their experience at Macleans College covering academic opportunities, extra-curricular activities, meeting students and teachers from diverse backgrounds, celebrating victories and their dreams for the future.

Entertainment included instrumental performances by Fiona Fu (Hillary) playing the guzheng and Alisa Zhai (Kupe) on the guqin. Hibi Ye (Te Kanawa) and Ella Bing (Batten) sang, and Steven Chen (Kupe) performed an energetic hip hop routine.

The Macleans College International Department wishes the class of 2024 all the best for a happy and successful future.
