Impressive rowing results at Lake Pupuke

Posted on November 16, 2020

On 7 November the Macleans College Rowing Club attended their first competitive regatta of the season.

Held at Lake Pupuke in Takapuna, there were 17 girls and 16 boys from Years 9 to 12 competing with 14 other schools and clubs from the Auckland region.  Out of the 15 events the squad competed in, they came 1st in four, 2nd in four and 3rd in four. These were a great set of results for the first regatta of the season.

The squad also volunteered in the recent Auckland Marathon to run a drinks station. It was a fun way for the club to raise some money, help the community and work together as a team.

The Macleans Rowing Club would like to acknowledge Fresh Choice Half Moon Bay and Countdown Highland Park for a donation to the club from their Local Community Fund, it is greatly appreciated.

The squad are now training hard for the next regatta at Lake Karapiro from 27 – 28 November.
