High Distinction in New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge

Posted on July 07, 2022

Two Year 11 Macleans College students, Adam Choong (Te Kanawa House) and Nicholas Choi (Rutherford) have been studying the brain and neurological disorders since March.

After both students achieved high distinction in the online test, they were selected to attend the Brain Bee visit to The University of Auckland Medical School, along with the remainder of the top 180 students from the North Island.

The day included guest speakers from the Centre for Brain Research, team and individual quizzes, a tour of some of the research facilities in the Health Sciences Faculty and the opportunity to meet young scientists within the university to ask questions about pathways into research.

Adam and Nicholas found the trip to be very interesting and beneficial to learn more about neuroscience research and career pathways.
