Gold Medal at the International Economics Olympiad

Yang Fan Yun, Year 13, Snell House recently returned from Moscow, Russia, where he represented New Zealand at the International Economics Olympiad and attained a Gold medal.
Moreover, Yang Fan was awarded the special prize for achieving the highest mark in the entire Olympiad for the Economics section with 166 points out of a possible 196. The Olympiad consists of three sections - Economics, Finance, and Business, with Economics being the most important section, weighted at 50% of the contestant's overall score.
Without a doubt, this achievement places Yang Fan amongst the top Economics students in the world.
Yang Fan’s success is reflective of the strength of Economics at Macleans College as well as conscientious mentoring and support provided by Mrs Ladkoo.
