Geography students visit Muriwai Beach

NCEA Level 3 Geography students visited Muriwai Beach last week to collect data for their geographical investigation.
Favourable weather conditions allowed the students to undertake a range of geographical techniques including longshore drift measurements and beach profiles. These techniques enabled the students to answer a hypothesis which was set in the classroom.
The students also enjoyed a walk around Otakamiro Point to view the gannet colony and tectonic landscape.
