Fourth place at Young Singers in Harmony Barbershop Nationals

Four quartets represented Macleans College at the Upper Voices Quartet national finals event:

• Log Ten Thousand - Abbie Yeung (Rutherford House), Jolie Chang (Snell), Kardia Lee (Upham) and Catherine Luo (Rutherford)
• The Five Cannibals - Doreen Li (Rutherford), Jocelyn Chow (Upham), Victoria Hsu (Batten) and Kelly Ma (Upham)
• The Cherry on Top - Sophia Askin (Batten), Hannah Liu (Rutherford), Athena Grant (Hillary) and Emily Ong (Snell)
• Quartet Pounders - Chien-Ling Liu (Kupe), Naomi Kwan (Rutherford), Luckiney Zhang (Batten) and Rhythm Kaur (Rutherford).

Leading the 60-strong chorus Macappella, Melody Lowe, directed a beautiful rendition of Pure Imagination and a highly energetic Don’t Rain on My Parade. Macappella were placed fourth in the Upper Voices Chorus category and sixth overall amongst Upper Voices, Lower Voices and Mixed Voices categories.
