Former student working as Sir Peter Blake 2016 Antarctic Ambassador

Annika Andresen (Kupe House 2008 – 2012) is one of twelve people chosen to work in the Antarctic during November - December 2016.

The programme is in partnership with Antarctica NZ, the Antarctic Heritage Trust, NIWA and the Department of Conservation.

These ambassadors, aged between 18 – 25 years, work alongside teams of scientists, conservationists, engineers and conservators on environmental and heritage restoration projects to advance our understanding and address some of the big environmental questions and challenges facing society.

Annika, is currently studying a Masters of Architecture at the University of Auckland. Through her architecture and design, Annika is investigating ways to engage the public and help shape people’s understanding and behaviour towards the environment.

She was House Captain of Kupe in 2012.
