Former Macleans College student Raelene Castle (Mansfield House 1984 – 1988) has been appointed as the new CEO of Sport New Zealand.
Raelene will be Sport NZ’s third CEO and is the first woman to lead the crown agency. She was previously CEO of Netball New Zealand from 2007 – 2013 and CEO with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs from 2013 – 2017 (the first woman to be CEO of a club in the NRL). She then became CEO of Rugby Australia from 2017 – 2020.
Raelene visited Macleans College in August 2019 and was the guest speaker for the opening ceremony of the rebuilt Mansfield House.
