Former Macleans College Student is Runner-Up in Prestigious International Competition

Cameron Holder (Rutherford House, 2007 - 2011) has achieved an outstanding success in the Global James Dyson Awards.

His design of a temporary habitat that assists wildlife during oil spills known as DR.POW (Deployable Rehabilitation Pool for Oiled Wildlife) was recognised as providing a high level of protection at a very short notice to vulnerable creatures during an oil spill.

Cameron was also awarded GBP 2000 to help pursue his ideas.

He successfully graduated from Massey University with a First Class Honours Degree in Industrial and Product Design. Cameron’s design was also nominated for this year’s Designers Institute of NZ Best Award. He is now working for the Human Dynamo Workshop as an Industrial Designer and Digital Fabricator in Wellington.
