First place in junior section of New Zealand Physics and Mathematics Competition

Also in the junior section, Jay Zhao (Rutherford) finished fifth equal and Bruce Zhang (Mansfield), Jay Hwang (Mansfield) and Tejasvi Kichavadi (Batten) finished tenth equal.

Qualifying for the final was an achievement in itself, with only 1% of eligible students progressing to that stage. Forty Macleans College students reached the final, which was far and away the best performance of any school.

These results show a great commitment from students to test themselves against the very high-level physics and mathematics questions in the 90-minute examination.
