Exceptional skills showcased at Combined Points Netball Tournament

Posted on August 15, 2023

On a fresh and slightly damp Wednesday, at the recent Combined Points Netball Competition, teams travelled across Auckland and from the Waikato to compete against each other in a fierce competition.

The Macleans College Premier Girls, Boys, Year 10 and Year 9 teams showcased their exceptional skills and delivered a thrilling display of sportsmanship and determination.

All the teams played with incredible passion and remarkable talent throughout the tournament. The players demonstrated their dedication to the sport and made the school proud with their outstanding performances on the court. The pool play was tough, versing the eventual winners across all levels.

Despite a valiant effort, the boys team narrowly missed out on victory in the final against Mount Albert Grammar. However, their match turned out to be an exhilarating spectacle and they played with immense skill and determination, making the game a true joy to watch.

Macleans College would like to extend their gratitude to the umpires, helpers, and supporters who came out in full force to cheer on the teams. Your presence and encouragement does not go unnoticed by coaches and players and contributed to the fantastic atmosphere at the tournament.

It is a tough job umpiring. Well done, in particular to Neika Villis (Hillary House), Ashleigh Edginton (Te Kanawa) and Zoe Siso (Kupe) who all umpired five games in short succession.

Congratulations to all the coaches and teams for an amazing display of talent and sportsmanship. Macleans College are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to witnessing continued success in the sport.
