ESOL Senior Immersion Auckland War Memorial Museum Trip

Posted on August 25, 2016

Seventy-six Macleans College ESOL students and their teachers visited the Auckland War Memorial Museum this week.

They enjoyed an excellent museum-led educator activity on volcanoes. The students learnt how the area of Auckland is affected by a number of them, shown examples of volcanic material and had to plan what they would need in an emergency evacuation. They also explored many areas of the museum.

The trip was part of the ESS1 recent study on natural disasters and on return to school this will be part of their next internal writing assessment.
