The Inter-Schools Show Jumping series was held at St Peter’s School in Cambridge over two separate days, 2 April and 13 August.

Macleans College was represented on the first day of the series by Hayley Newington (Hillary House) riding KL Napoleon, Liv Shemmings (Batten) riding Paint Me By Surprise and Kate McKeen (Hillary) riding Shadow. After camping out and competing in terrible weather conditions the students persevered and were rewarded with good placings.

Hayley rode in both 1.05m height hack classes producing double clear rounds in both classes to be placed third and fourth respectively. Kate rode in the 70cm hack class and was placed third in the first with two clear jumping rounds and eighth in her second 70cm class with just one rail down. Liv placed ninth after clear rounds and 14th in her 90cm pony classes.

The second day of the show jumping series was entered by Indi Sutherland (Te Kanawa) riding Paton and Liv Shemmings riding Paint Me By Surprise.

Indi rode a clear round in her first 70cm hack class to finish that class in third place. Liv competed again in both 90cm pony classes finishing 10th and 13th.
