Engineering Career Paths introduced to Senior Students

Posted on August 13, 2019

As part of Wonder Week in August, 11 senior students from Macleans College had the opportunity to visit Babbage Consultants in Auckland’s CBD, where they were introduced to some of the activities that are undertaken by engineers.

The students were familiarised with soil and rock sample testing, the role of ecology in engineering work and they then pitted their wits against Babbage staff and each other in a keenly contested bridge-building competition.

They were able to learn much more about possible career paths into engineering in its many forms following small-group discussions with professional engineers from Babbage.

Thanks to Malcolm Stapleton and his colleagues at Babbage for putting on an excellent and inspiring event.
