Eisteddfod Celebrations a Highlight in a Challenging Year
Posted on September 25, 2020
Last week the performing arts faculty took to the stage, in a week-long festival featuring; choirs, bands, orchestras, theatrical performances and cultural acts.
The Eisteddfod was scheduled in response to the cancellation of the major performance events in 2020 and provided a singular opportunity for students to display their talents.
A physically distanced, reduced capacity audience of students and staff, enjoyed the performances, which were also recorded live for the Macleans Performing Arts YouTube channel.
Particular highlights included; Hans Zimmer’s Lion King Symphonic Suite with combined symphony orchestra and chorale, David Li’s performance of Beelzabub on the Tuba, the exciting choreography of the chorale in Balleilakka, the resonant harmonies of Macappella, outstanding theatrical productions of Crash and Cabaret and the ever popular Night of Intercultural.
