Deputy Head Girl attends Youth Parliament 2022
Posted on July 27, 2022
Deputy Head Girl Grace Pickering (Te Kanawa House) attended the two-day Youth Parliament event in Wellington during the recent school holidays.
Youth Parliament is a unique opportunity for young New Zealanders to learn first-hand about New Zealand’s democracy, influence government decision-making and have their voices heard.
Held every three years, Grace was one of 120 Youth MPs who attended this event. Grace wanted to participate in Youth Parliament to make an impact, not only in her community but also in creating pathways and opportunity for all rangatahi in Aotearoa. Her passionate and heart-felt address to the Speaker of the House is attestation of her goal to help others.
Grace proudly represented Macleans College, her whānau and culture.
