A group of 12 Macleans College students represented the school at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships, held in Christchurch.
Held across Queen Elizabeth II and Ascot Parks, this year was the 50th running of the championships. The course was based around a 1,500 metre loop.
The group performed extremely well in the cold weather conditions. Team manager Mr Thackwray congratulated the runners for their dedication and focus.
Year 10 student Moojin Lee (Upham House) had a strong race to finish ninth in the Junior Boys division. Year 12 student Ben Oxford (Kupe) finished 10th in the Senior Boys division, which resulted in selection for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country team to compete in Australia in Term 3.
Other standout results included the senior six-man team who just missed the top three and the senior three-man team who placed fifth.
The group also competed in the regional relay, with Macleans College students making up the entire membership of the Counties Manukau team.
