Cross Country Central South Eastern Zone

The Macleans College Cross Country squad comprising 50 students across all year levels participated recently at the Cross Country Central South Eastern Zone event held at Lloyd Elsmore Park.
Some excellent results were achieved on the day. Abbey Bolton (Kupe House) placed 8th in the Junior Girls race while Christian de Vaal (Kupe) won the Junior Boys race with Dion Wallwork (Upham) finishing a close second place behind him. Flynn Verner (Kupe) came in 9th in the same race to confirm three Macleans College students in the top 10 for Junior Boys.
David de Vaal (Kupe), Ronan Codyre (Batten), Luke Hitchcock (Snell) and Joe Shiozawa (Rutherford) finished 3rd, 6th, 8th and 10th respectively which meant Macleans College had four students finish in the Intermediate Boys top 10.
Caitlin Harley (Upham) finished 4th and Maddi Hohneck (Snell) finished 5th in the Senior Girls race with Lakshay Bawa (Kupe) finishing 4th and Jake Hellawell (Rutherford) finishing 5th in the Senior Boys race. Kalani Hokianga (Kupe) finished 10th in the Senior Boys race to end the day with three Macleans College students in the top 10 in the final race.
In the team results, the Junior Girls team comprised of Abbey Bolton, Sophia Urlich (Te Kanawa) and Anneliese Parsons (Mansfield) finished 3rd overall, the Junior Boys team comprised of Christian de Vaal, Dion Wallwork and Flynn Verner finished 1st overall. The Intermediate Boys team comprised of David de Vaal, Ronan Codyre and Luke Hitchcock finished 2nd overall, the Senior Girls team comprised of Caitlin Harley, Maddi Hohneck and Ashley Faulkner (Rutherford) finished 3rd overall and the Senior Boys team comprised of Lakshay Bawa, Jake Hellawell (Rutherford) and Kalani Hokianga finished 2nd overall.
Well done to all students who competed last week and all the best to the students who are progressing on to the Cross Country Championships event on Thursday 23 May at Saint Kentigern College.
