Creative Arts, Design and Industries students celebrated at Macleans College

The inaugural CADI (Creative Arts, Design and Industries) Faculty Graduate Exhibition was held on the evening of Wednesday 28 September.

The exhibition drew together students from across the faculty with senior students displaying the best of their practical work and hospitality students hosting the event with a wonderful array of refreshments.

Generously sponsored by Ray White Eastern Group the exhibition provided students with the opportunity to experience showing their work to a wider public audience. The exhibition drew a great audience which was appreciated by the students involved.

Work on display came from the areas of Textiles, Painting, Photography, Art Design, Digital Media and Design, Design and Visual Communication, Engineering and Construction. The work was judged by artist and tertiary lecturer Mr Horner, Head of Visual Arts at Green Bay College Mr James, and Macleans College Deputy Principal Ms Tuialli.

Along with viewing the exciting practical work on display, guests were treated to a musical performance by a string quartet made up of Lorna Zhang (Mansfield House), Malinda Guan (Upham), Wei Tian Teo (Rutherford) and Bruce Zhang (Kupe).

Award winners on the night were presented by Daniel Voykovich from Ray White Eastern.

  • Painting - Iris Wong (Snell)
  • Photography - Amanda Hao (Upham)
  • Art Design - Iris Wong
  • Design and Visual Communication - Trumen Yong (Hillary)
  • Engineering and Construction - Aimee Dawson (Rutherford)

People’s Choice Award - receiving $150.00 and two tickets to Monterey Cinemas:

Supreme Award - receiving $350.00:

  • Ella Sweeney
