Commerce Trip to the U.S.A
Posted on May 04, 2018
During the recent school holidays, 17 Macleans College Commerce students, two teachers and a tour guide travelled to the U.S.A to experience the commercial world in the planet’s largest economy as well as visiting iconic locations in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.
These included Stanford University, Apple Park, The United Nations, Oracle, Wall Street, Pivatol, University of Southern California and Macy’s, as well as classic tourist locations including the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, Universal Studios and Disneyland.
The group were exposed to innovative work environments, how the stock market functions, and the significance of finance and the recent global financial crisis. Other areas included how to programme robots and create online games and how much it costs to attend universities in the USA.
Many thanks to Mr Caley, Mrs Bigwood and our tour guide Hayley for providing this amazing opportunity. Their hard work in organising this trip was very much appreciated.
