Macleans College Commerce students partake in Pursuits Competition

Posted on September 06, 2024

After a five year hiatus, the interschool Pursuits Competition organised by the New Zealand Commerce and Economics Teachers’ Association returned to The University of Auckland’s Business School.

Students faced seven rounds of questions which were a mixture of subject related content as well as current events and general knowledge.

Halfway through the competition, pizza was served which provided students an opportunity to mix and mingle with students from other schools as well as University of Auckland staff who made themselves available to discuss their first year programmes.

Although not achieving a top three placing, all 10 students enjoyed themselves. So much so, the Year 12 students have begun discussing strategies to employ to ensure an improved performance in 2025.

Thank you to The University of Auckland for their sponsorship of the event which included refreshments and generous prizes for the winning schools. Thank you also to Ms Monsen for transporting the students safely to and from the venue.
