Celebrated poet visits Macleans College students

Posted on August 21, 2023

One of New Zealand’s most celebrated spoken word/slam poets visited Macleans College to speak to Year 9 students about the connection between performance and poetry.

Te Kahu Rolleston comes from a small settlement on the coast of Tauranga. He shared his own stories and poems and encouraged students to think outside the box.

Year 9 students have been working through a unit learning about public speaking and are just about to embark on a new unit on various forms and functions of poetry.
