Business Studies students take part in Dragons’ Den Pitch day

NCEA Level 3 Business Studies students recently had the opportunity to pitch their group businesses in a Dragons’ Den style event held as part of the regional Young Enterprise Competition.
Dragons’ Den is a reality television series where entrepreneurs present their business ideas to a panel of investors.
Each company had just five minutes to deliver an engaging presentation of their business plan, after which a panel of judges took time to ask students challenging questions on their proposal.
This pitch session provided students with an excellent opportunity to present their ideas and to receive valuable advice from the judging panel, comprising of prominent industry professionals. As expected, the Macleans College students wowed the judges with their presentations and creativity. For the students, although a little nerve racking they found the experience to be challenging, stimulating and a rewarding taste of what business in the real world will be like.
