Business Studies Students Pitch Session at AUT
Posted on June 07, 2018
On Monday 21 May, NCEA Level 3 Business Studies students had an opportunity to make the case for their businesses to investors in a dragon’s den style pitch session at the AUT campus in Manukau.
Each company, a student business project, had just five minutes to deliver a succinct and engaging presentation of their business plan, after which the panel of judges took time to ask the students questions and allocate marks.
This pitch session provided students with an excellent opportunity to present their ideas to a live audience and to receive valuable advice from judges. The students found the experience to be challenging, stimulating, and rewarding.
Mr Campbell, one of the teachers, believed “it was a very useful experience for students to consult with some real business people. I hope they got something out of it and will take on board the feedback they got”.
Following the pitch session, one of the business groups, “Kura Tuatahi School First” developed by Will Taylor (13HUMR) was approached by a potential financial investor.
