Bollywood Dance Group

Ten members of the Macleans College Bollywood Dance group performed at the Mt Eden War Memorial Hall on Saturday 5th May as part of a fundraising show organised by the Vanni Neyam Trust.
This Trust raises funds for the many children in orphanages in Sri Lanka. To date they have raised over $97,000. The focus this year has been on education by providing English and computer classes. They have also provided a number of bicycles because the children often go to schools five or more kilometres away.
The girls performed a medley of traditional, contemporary and hip-hop dance. They were one of 14 performances on the night and it was impressive to see them giving of their time for others in need.
Thank you to the parents who helped with transport and for supporting this activity.
A big thank you and congratulations to the following girls on a fine performance.
