Biology students study evolution at Auckland Zoo

On Tuesday 19 September the Macleans College Level 3 NCEA Biology students attended an educational learning session at the Auckland Zoo.
The students participated in a one-hour hands on workshop looking at trends in human evolution and then spent the rest of the day observing animal behaviour around the zoo.
The classroom session and the new Southeast Asia Jungle Track exhibits were enjoyed by all.
As part of the NCEA Level 3 Biology course students develop an understanding of the diversity of life and life processes, of evolution as the result of life processes and the ecology, and the impact of humans on all forms of life and the environment.
