Awe-inspiring inspiration for Textiles students

Posted on June 17, 2022

The second term is a busy one for the Year 12 and 13 Textiles students as they embark on their final major internal work and development of their external and Scholarship submissions.

For this they need to collect visual resources from actual locations to inform designs that they will use to create and develop ideas from.

Last week Year 12 Textiles students visited Kelly Tarlton’s Sea Life Aquarium in order to capture visual resources from a range of Aotearoa New Zealand marine life. This was a busy few hours with lots of potential imagery to choose from and photograph.

A week earlier Year 13 students went to the Auckland War Memorial Museum to visit the Weird and Wonderful section plus the Imaginarium areas. Here there was a wealth of information and subject matter for students to draw from and photograph.
